Call for papers

We invite postgraduate (Masters and PhD) students to submit abstracts for oral presentation on any area of linguistics, including:

  • educational linguistics
  • historical linguistics
  • language acquisition
  • lexicography and lexicology
  • morphology
  • phonology
  • pragmatics
  • psycholinguistics
  • semantics
  • syntax
  • sociolinguistics
  • terminology
  • text linguistics.

Submission guidelines

The abstracts should be submitted on EasyChair until 1 March 2020. Accepted papers will be allotted 20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion.

Each author may submit at most one abstract of a maximum of 500 words. References should only be in the submitted pdf format. The abstracts can be written in Portuguese or English and you should choose the area/s where they are inserted. Please use the online registration form to submit your abstract, available here.

We expect to publish the proceedings of the conference in the online Journal NOVAling.


Key dates

Deadline for submission of abstracts: 16 February 2020.

New deadline for submission of abstracts: 1 March 2020

Notification of acceptance/rejection:  17 April 2020.
